“I will not give offerings to The Lord my God that didn’t cost me anything.”
— 2 Samuel 24:24
Jesus said,’ If you want to see where men’s hearts are at, then just check where their money is at’. ( Matt 6.21)We believe in giving like this…Regularly ( 1 Corinthians 16.2)
Generously ( 2 Corinthians 9.6)
Joyfully ( 2 Corinthians 9.7)
Sacrificially (2 Samuel 24.24)In the end, we are looking to honour God with our giving.
Sometimes we baulk at money.
But Jesus is always looking for something far beyond money. He is after our hearts, our lives, our everything. He is looking to become The Lord of our lives and set up His throne there.
Money is a yardstick that God uses to see how He Himself is going in pursuit of our hearts, lives, everything. When Jesus is Lord of our lives and not just something we do on Sundays, it changes the way we do everything. Christ’s Lordship changes our attitudes…it changes the way we think about money and it changes the way we give.
